Let’s be honest about it: no one really wants to spend any extended amount of time in a hospital, especially with a sick child. But as the father of 3 kids with asthma, this is a reality I’ve had to contend with quite a few times over the last 10 years. I can tell you from first hand experience, there’s nothing that gives me greater comfort in these situations than knowing my children are getting the BEST care available in the state of Colorado when they’re at Children’s Hospital. Please take a minute and make a donation. Thanks for your help. We appreciate it.

I was a very sick little kid. It was back in the days of mainline adrenaline shots and oxygen tents for asthmatics, and the doctors didn't expect me to reach 20. Lucklily I met many nurses who were great at their jobs, and people in medicine always do their very best for children, but I feel it's very important to focus on childhood illness from many angles in order to offer the best treatment. I love what Children's Hospital does. Your donation could help save a child. Thank you.

We have a band of angels who are among us here in Colorado. I speak of the staff at Children's Hospital. In the direst of situations, when a parent has a severely ill child, Children's Hospital is there to not only care for our precious children, but also their families. It is with world class expertise, compassion and love that they not only work to heal our children, but also make sure Mommy and Daddy are taken care of, and that they are staying strong. By signing up to ride in the Children's Hospital Courage Classic, you are supporting that "extended" family so that they can always be there to heal, care for and love our children.

About The Courage Classic:
Since it began, The Children’s Hospital Courage Classic has become one of Colorado’s most-anticipated, best-attended bicycling events. The 157-mile Tour winds through some of the prettiest places in Colorado, including a climb up Vail Pass and a cruise down the bike path from Copper Mountain into Dillon.
Nearly 2,400 cyclists and volunteers participate in the three-day event, as well as several thousand rider family members and spectators. 2009 was the 20th Anniversary of The Courage Classic and the event raised over $2.3 million through sponsorship and rider-solicited donations.
All funds raised support The Children’s Hospital, which is the only freestanding, not-for-profit pediatric hospital in the Rocky Mountain region and is considered to be one of the nation’s best hospitals for kids. No other hospital in the region cares for more sick and injured children, does more pediatric research, or trains more pediatricians and pediatric specialists than Children’s.
*All riders will be required to fundraise a minimum of $300.00.
*The first 15 riders to register will receive free registration.

During the month of July, Bicycle Pedal'r will donate 2% of the price of every bicycle sold to The Children's Hospital.
