Today on The List I laid out my choices for the most celebrated, decorated, and sometimes inebriated solo artists from the 70's. Not on The List; McCartney (Wings was a band), John Lennon (he never really engaged after the Beatles) Billy Joel (too uneven) Rod Stewart ('I'll never forgive him for "Do You Think I'm Sexy) and Bruce Springsteen...wait for the 80's tomorrow. So here you go, my top 5;
Neil Young, Bob Seger, Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton and number one goes to Elton John. Elton ruled the decade with 7 number one albums including the first to ever debut at number 1..."Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy." He sold out Stadiums and Arenas all over the world and turned out his best work (an average of 1 album each 6 months) while he was emerging as the biggest pop/rock star on the planet. There, I've said my peace. It's your turn.
