AUDIO: Denver to DIA in less than 10

November 15, 2017

It seems to take FOR-EV-ER to get to DIA from downtown, but maybe not for long! The city has signed a partnership agreement with Los Angeles-based Arrivo to build a hyperloop-inspired system that will travel at up to 200 miles per hour. The system would be above ground, and because of that, costs will be significantly lower than other proposed systems. Construction is slated to start in 2019, and it could begin operation as early as 2021.

In other transportation news, a Massachusetts man attempted to avoid registration fees on his car by making his own license plate out of a pizza box. It wasn't super convincing, markers and carbord can't really mimic aluminum that well. The driver was hit with charges including operating an uninsured and unregistered vehicle and attaching fake license plates.

Last week, we learned that Juli Briskman, the bicyclist who flipped off President Trump in a now viral photo, was fired from her job. Since then, a GoFundMe campaign has been created for Briskman, and is incredibly close to reaching the $100k goal. The campaign calls Briskman "an inspiration to us all."

If you've been feeling a bit... furrier recently, it's because you probably are. According to a new study, our hair gets thinner during summer and fall and is thicker in the winter months. Scientists say this might have something to do with how we're wired. Our bodies grow thicker hair in the winter months to provide warmth, and then shed it in the summer. Kind of like dogs!
