CHICK-FIL-A'D: BULLY FIRED AFTER VIDEO GOES VIRAL A man who videotaped himself getting free water at a Chick-Fil-A drive-thru just to berate the young woman serving him has been fired from his job.
Adam Smith is seen in his video admitting feeling happy condemning the Chick-Fil-A employee over CEO Dan Cathy's same-sex-marriage remarks. The video went viral, and citizen journalists tracked him down online and grabbed copies of his resume. His employer, Vante, released this statement:
Vante of Tucson, AZ Regrets Actions of Former CFO
The following is a statement from Vante: Vante regrets the unfortunate events that transpired yesterday in Tucson between our former CFO/Treasurer Adam Smith and an employee at Chick-fil-A. Effective immediately, Mr. Smith is no longer an employee of our company.
The actions of Mr. Smith do not reflect our corporate values in any manner. Vante is an equal opportunity company with a diverse workforce, which holds diverse opinions. We respect the right of our employees and all Americans to hold and express their personal opinions, however, we also expect our company officers to behave in a manner commensurate with their position and in a respectful fashion that conveys these values of civility with others.
We hope that the general population does not hold Mr. Smith's actions against Vante and its employees.
It does no good to berate the young woman at the bottom of the food chain about the actions of Dan Cathy's remarks. Clearly Adam Smith learned nothing about the risk of making a public display of insensitive comments.
Dan Cathy can have his own opinion and good for him for sticking up for himself
Good for Vante, what he did is totally unacceptable and put the employee in a very bad situation. I though that she handled herself very well in that situation. My niece and most of her high school friends worked for Chick - Fil - A for many years while in high school and they were wonderful to those kids. They even give scholarships to some deserving employees for college. I'm glad that he has the courage to stand up for what he believes. Shame on you Mr. Smith.
Not on company time
While everyone has the right to their opinion - if Mr. Adam was not on company time. He should not have been fired. If a CFO can express himself on his views, this right also belongs to Mr. Adams. Yet, I do agree this should not have been taken out on the employee but the company was not in the right to fire someone if they were not on company time or speaking on behalf of the company.
See who the real hateful one is...
What "hate" is this guy talking about? If the CEO of Chik Fil A doesn't agree with same-sex marriage, then how is that hateful?? Seriously, there's nothing of "hate" in it at all. Yet this silly twit is so full of HATE, himself and he's proud of berating this nice girl and saying "hate, hate, hate" so much.
Wow. That poor innocent girl! She probably cried after that encounter. How could someone treat another person in such a cruel manner? Hurting another human being for your "cause" makes you mean, doing it the way Mr. Smith did makes him a coward. Adam Smith you are a coward! Picking on a defenseless young girl and being proud of it makes you a bully, a coward, mean to the core and lacking any moral values.
